Water and dance are the central themes of the painterly photographic works of Corinna Rosteck. In her pictures she asks for localization, change and dissolution, for dream and reality. From series to series, this photographic painting process is refined, the perception is sharpened and differentiated. Accompanying productions by well-known ensembles/dance companies (such as the Pina Bausch Compagnie and the Staatstheater Kassel) and in collaboration with solo dancers (Butoh), she develops own performances and installations dedicated solely to the creation of her work. The images are projected onto the dancers and staged in the interplay of light, space and music to create a total work of art. The photoworks series that result are pictorially realized with a special surface technique developed by the artist, the printing and lighting depth effect of the metallic reflecting images evokes the aesthetic stubbornness of the works to oscillate between weightlessness and materiality, visually enhanced by multiple exposures, fades, traces of movement. Corinna Rosteck’s artistic works move between factual photography and painting. They operate multilayered in the aesthetic span between the non-determinable, changeable and ephemeral, between the technical gaze of the camera and the gaze of the painter, between a momentary and perceptually aesthetic reality. The artworks are about depicting the always endangered equilibrium as a passage through time.
El agua y la danza son los temas centrales de las obras fotográficas pictóricas de Corinna Rosteck. En sus imágenes se pregunta por la localización, el cambio y la disolución, por el sueño y la realidad. De serie en serie, este proceso de pintura fotográfica se refina, la percepción se agudiza y diferencia. Acompañando producciones de conocidos conjuntos/compañías de danza (como la Pina Bausch Compagnie y el Staatstheater Kassel) y en colaboración con bailarines solistas (Butoh), desarrolla actuaciones e instalaciones propias dedicadas exclusivamente a la creación de su obra. Las imágenes se proyectan sobre los bailarines y se escenifican en un juego de luz, espacio y música para crear una obra de arte total. Las series de obras fotográficas resultantes se realizan pictóricamente con una técnica de superficie especial desarrollada por la artista, el efecto de profundidad de la impresión y la iluminación de las imágenes metálicas reflectantes evoca la obstinación estética de las obras por oscilar entre la ingravidez y la materialidad, realzada visualmente por múltiples exposiciones, difuminados, rastros de movimiento. Las obras artísticas de Corinna Rosteck se mueven entre la fotografía factual y la pintura. Funcionan a varias bandas en el abanico estético entre lo indeterminable, lo cambiante y lo efímero, entre la mirada técnica de la cámara y la mirada del pintor, entre una realidad momentánea y perceptualmente estética. Las obras tratan de representar el equilibrio, siempre en peligro, como un paso a través del tiempo.
Corinna Rosteck, born in 1968, grew up in Hameln and Ibiza) is a freelance artist in the field of photography, video and installation. Since her first studies in Berlin with (Professor Kuno Gonschior /Color Space Painting) and the master student diploma with Prof. Katharina Sieverding (photoinstallation), she explored a painterly informed photography since the mid-90s with a variety of printing techniques. Supported by prestigious scholarships and study residencies, she intensified an artistic exploration of painterly, haptic photography in New York at the International Center of Photography, in London at Central St. Martin's College of Art & Design, and at the Cinemathèque de Paris, in a search for 'other realities', for images that create "disturbing constructed realities". She is a member of the German Society for Photographie, Cologne, the German Künstlerbund and the Verein Berliner Künstler. She has successfully realized art-on-construction projects with renowned companies such as B.Braun AG, Airbus AG and accenture GmbH. Her works are presented in numerous exhibitions at home and abroad as well as at trade fairs, including the Art Dubai, Art Abu Dhabi, Art Cologne,Art Zurich ,etc.
Corinna Rosteck, nacida en 1968, creció en Hameln e Ibiza) es una artista independiente en el campo de la fotografía, el vídeo y la instalación. Desde sus primeros estudios en Berlín con el profesor Kuno Gonschior (Color Space Painting) y el diploma de máster con la profesora Katharina Sieverding (fotoinstalación), desde mediados de los años 90 ha explorado la fotografía pictórica con diversas técnicas de impresión. Con el apoyo de prestigiosas becas y residencias de estudio, intensificó su exploración artística de la fotografía pictórica y háptica en Nueva York, en el International Center of Photography, en Londres, en el Central St. Martin's College of Art & Design, y en la Cinemathèque de París, en una búsqueda de «otras realidades», de imágenes que crean «perturbadoras realidades construidas». Es miembro de la Sociedad Alemana de Fotografía de Colonia, la German Künstlerbund y la Verein Berliner Künstler. Ha realizado con éxito proyectos de arte en la construcción con empresas de renombre como B.Braun AG, Airbus AG y accenture GmbH. Sus obras se presentan en numerosas exposiciones nacionales e internacionales, así como en ferias, como Art Dubai, Art Abu Dhabi, Art Cologne, Art Zurich, etc.
